Chiropractic-Services

If you’ve ever experienced back pain, neck pain or headaches, you may have been told that you can benefit from chiropractic care. You may not know that chiropractors also treat conditions associated with the extremities including the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, and ankle! If you’re suffering from any of these conditions, our chiropractor, Dr. Stephanie Juffs, can help you on your road to recovery!

What is chiropractic?

When people think of chiropractic care, they often think of a spinal adjustment, also known as spinal manipulation. Chiropractors are specialists in manual adjustment of the vertebrae of the spine and also of other joints. An adjustment is a non-invasive procedure that helps to restore normal range of motion to a joint in your spine or extremities, relieve pain and restore normal functioning so you can enjoy your everyday activities again as quickly as possible. Our chiropractor not only uses spinal manipulation but also uses joint mobilizations, muscle release therapy, acupuncture, exercise, therapeutic modalities including Laser, and provides advice on nutrition and lifestyle counseling!

Who should go see a chiropractor?

Anyone can go see a chiropractor as a chiropractor is a primary care practitioner that does not require a referral to visit. If pain is causing interruptions and restrictions in the activities of your daily life then you should consult a health care provider, such as a chiropractor!

Examples of conditions that Dr. Stephanie can help you with include:

  • Low back pain
  • Neck pain, including whiplash
  • Headaches
  • Upper extremity pain in the shoulder, elbow or wrist
  • Lower extremity pain in the hip, knee or ankle
  • Chronic pain conditions
  • Arthritis
  • Muscle stiffness, sprains, and strains
  • Carpal tunnel and other nerve entrapments

When should I go see a chiropractor?

If you have any of the above conditions, it is time to visit a chiropractor! Often with these types of conditions, the sooner you seek treatment the faster it will go away. If you ignore pain and do not find the cause of it and attempt to change your habits, it could become chronic or long-lasting. You do not require a referral to see a chiropractor, and our chiropractor is trained to refer you to other health care practitioners when necessary.

Is chiropractic care safe?

Yes! Chiropractic is widely recognized as one of the safest, drug-free, non-invasive therapies available for the treatment of headache, and neck and back pain. It has an excellent safety record. Chiropractic is an evidence-informed, non-invasive, hands-on health care discipline. Our chiropractor attended 8 years of schooling to become a primary care practitioner who focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. She will thoroughly explain all of your treatment options to you after your initial examination and ensure you are making a fully informed decision. If you have any questions about your chiropractic care, please ask at any time.

What should I expect during my first visit with a chiropractor?

The first time you see our chiropractor, Dr. Stephanie, she will perform a thorough examination of your case. This includes a history and physical examination, where she will chat with you about your pain, and physically ask you to move and perform special tests to assess the areas of concern. After, she will provide you with a diagnosis, explain the likely causes or factors involved in your pain, and then develop a personalized, comprehensive treatment plan with you. Dr. Stephanie may send you for further tests, such as x-rays (only when medically indicated), or refer you to another practitioner for co-management or care. You’ll have the opportunity to ask as many questions as you like during this appointment. The first visit takes about an hour, and each visit afterward is about 20-30 minutes and focuses on both hands on treatment and rehabilitation.

Please visit our clinic to say hello to our chiropractor, Dr. Stephanie! She will be happy to meet with you and answers any questions you may have about chiropractic care.
